About RootedPrompt
Plain, sourced guides to using AI well in Africa, built on local context, local data and real work.
Much of what is written about AI is written for readers somewhere else. It assumes a fast connection and a credit card, and it either promises too much or warns of doom. People in Kampala, Nairobi, Lagos, Accra, Dar es Salaam, Kigali and Johannesburg deserve explanations that start from their own conditions: their languages, their laws, their phones and their work.
RootedPrompt writes those explanations. We correct common misunderstandings, such as "just tell AI to build me an app" or "that is the work of AI", without attacking any company. We explain what more is needed than a prompt, why local data and languages decide how well AI serves you, and how to learn and build with AI from where you are. Where it matters, every article says what is already happening in the countries we cover, named and dated.
Who runs it
RootedPrompt is run from Uganda by a small editorial team, and authorship is the team's. We use AI tools in our own research and drafting, and every article is checked against a published standard before it goes up. How we write explains exactly how.
One connection you should know about
The people behind RootedPrompt also build software for small businesses, including website software. Where an article touches that kind of product, it says so, and we never rank or recommend a product of that kind by name.
How it is paid for
Advertising may appear on the site. It never decides what we write: there are no sponsored posts, and no company pays to be mentioned.
